Wishing You Goodness

  • Peace and grand, flaky biscuits!

I hope something real good happens to y’all today. I hope you find a few dollars folded in your pocket from last week, just enough to buy your favorite snack, and when you get there, they tell you it’s buy one, get one free. I hope your least favorite coworker suddenly catches a case of “staying home today.”

I hope somebody hugs you so good your worries loosen their grip. I hope you overhear a toddler laugh so hard they hiccup, ‘cause ain’t nothing more healing than that kinda music. I hope your coffee or tea tastes like a vacation, your shoes don’t rub your heel, and your gas tank somehow stretches itself an extra day.

I hope your favorite person calls to talk about “nothing much,” and I hope the sky looks like a promise you still believe in. I hope somebody compliments your smile, even if you weren’t trying to smile.

Mostly, I hope care finds you, quietly, like the smell of Mississippi biscuits in the oven, sneaks up and stays awhile.

  • With all my heart
